From Sketch to Jewel: The MÖHYA Creation Process

Every piece of jewellery starts with an idea

At MÖHYA Signature, no piece is born by chance. It all starts with an observation – a texture found in nature, a shape that persists in memory, an emotion that begs to be translated into matter. It is from this starting point that each designer piece of jewellery is born.

The sketch: giving shape to the invisible

Before any metal is worked, there is paper. The first sketches are free, almost intuitive – lines that explore proportions, volumes, and movements. This phase is essential: it is here that the idea takes shape and begins to become real. Some sketches evolve quickly; others mature for weeks until they find their definitive form.

The choice of materials

At MÖHYA, we work exclusively with 925 silver, the purest silver alloy used in jewellery. When the piece requires it, we apply gold plating – a careful process that gives the jewellery a long-lasting quality golden finish. The natural stones are individually selected: each one is unique, with its own inclusions, shades, and energy.

The jeweller's work

It is in the jeweller's hands that the sketch transforms into jewellery. Cutting, filing, soldering, polishing – each step requires precision and patience. MÖHYA pieces are produced in Portugal, through an artisanal process that values detail and rejects the uniformity of mass production. The result is a piece of jewellery with its own character, bearing the mark of its maker.

The finishing and quality control

Before reaching you, each piece undergoes a rigorous review. We check the surface finish, the solidity of the solders, the setting of the stones, and the uniformity of the plating. Only when the jewellery meets our standards is it ready to be packaged and sent.

A piece of jewellery made to last

The MÖHYA creation process does not end with packaging. Each piece comes with care instructions so that your jewellery maintains its shine over time. Because we believe that a designer piece of jewellery should also be a piece of jewellery for life.
