MÖHYA Signature at NIT: The Story Behind Each Piece
June 2026
This week, NIT magazine—through the New in Porto edition—wrote about MÖHYA Signature and the journey that led to the brand's creation. For those who have been with us from the beginning, this is a moment we want to share with you. For those discovering us now, it’s perhaps the best way to understand what makes each MÖHYA piece different.
A brand that begins with a story, not a design
NIT summarized in one sentence what we believe in: at MÖHYA Signature, each piece begins with a story, not a design. First comes the concept—a memory, a reading, an everyday moment—and only then is the jewel born that makes it physical and eternal.
This was the case with the LA PËRLA collection, inspired by the sea, waves, and nautical elements. And it was also the case with DÜALIS, which emerged from reading texts about Plato and Aristotle: the ring that gives it its name represents the relationship between master and disciple, the divergence of ideas, and the connection between them, evoked by a red stone reminiscent of the Roman Empire. Some concepts transform easily into jewelry; others are abstract and require time. The challenge is always the same: to make the story effortlessly understood.
Silver as a choice, not a coincidence
MÖHYA Signature works with noble metals, especially 925 sterling silver—a decision made from day one. Silver is not a technical detail: it is what makes the timelessness we seek possible. We want to create pieces that transcend generations, and it wouldn't make sense to work any other way.
Each piece is designed and developed in our atelier, with the savoir-faire that the process demands. Depending on the complexity of the idea, a creation can take hours or days, between sketches, modeling, and several attempts until the right result is achieved.
The meaning of a name
MÖHYA comes from an adaptation of the surname Moya, from Aunt Alice—one of the people who supported us the most. The tribute gained an even deeper meaning, and that's also why each piece carries the idea that a jewel should preserve what is most difficult to keep: a story.
Most sought-after pieces
Among the most captivating creations are the PËTAL and COQUËTTE rings, the SËIVA earrings—inspired by olive tree branches—and the ÄUREA, with sunstone. The collection also includes necklaces with natural stones, coordinated sets, and limited editions designed for special occasions. Some pieces are produced in small quantities to reinforce their exclusive character.
In addition to the collections, we also create custom pieces—often conceived as unique gifts for loved ones. One of the most memorable creations was a pendant with NFC technology: by bringing a mobile phone close to the piece, a message defined by you appears. The special edition quickly sold out.
What comes next
For now, MÖHYA Signature operates exclusively online. But the future we envision includes a physical space and an atelier open to the public, where you can see the pieces being crafted and experience firsthand the value of each process.
Until then, we continue to create from our atelier in Porto, transforming ideas, memories, and references into jewelry made to last much longer than a trend.
